Nostalgic Midcentury VTG McCoy Hot Air Balloon Ceramic Pottery Cookie Jar

This is a vintage whimsical McCoy Hot Air Balloon ceramic cookie jar from the 1970s. It is marked "353 USA" on the bottom and is in exceptional condition. Most of these have lost part or all of the orange stripes. This one has its complete bright orange stripes and there is only two tiny areas that are not perfect (pictured). There are no chips, cracks, or crazing. The lid has intact and in good condition.

It is approximately 9 to 9.5 inches tall and the base is 3 3/4 inches across. The lid is about 4 1/2 inches across. The interior is clean and bright with no stains or signs of use (pictured). The bottom has a little wear (pictured) where it is unglazed. The top has a couple small indistinct dots in or on the glaze that may come off if scrubbed (pictured). The jar has been lightly cleaned with a mild soap. The cookie jar is fully functional for storage and features a bright yellow top section with orange lines and a brown wicker-style base with tiny sandbags.

This would make a great housewarming gift or addition to a collection or give a pop of color in the kitchen! McCoy cookie jars were staples in American kitchens for decades. This particular model captures the whimisical aesthetic of the 1970s, making it a popular piece for those decorating in a vintage style.
