The Moon & Stars pattern has a long history, originating in the 1880s with Adams & Co. as "The Palace" pattern. L. E. Smith popularized the design in the mid-20th century in various colors, including the iconic amberina (red-to-orange) gradient. Pieces in this color are often associated with the 1960s and 1970s era. This bowl has incredible depth and vibrant color. It is in good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. Light surface scratches can be seen in a few areas on very close inspection (pictured in photos). It measures 4 1/4 inches across the top and 4 inches across the bottom. Pressed glass collectibles such as this bowl have stood the test of time and now have found new enthusiasts in the younger generations. There are endless uses for this versatile piece.
