Shawnee Pottery, based in Zanesville, Ohio, produced their Corn King line from 1946 to 1954. This large cookie jar with its original lid retains a bright glaze and vivid colors. It is about 10 inches tall and about 8 inches across and is marked "Shawnee USA 66." It has a few small flaws. There is a small chip on one of the green husk leaves on the side. There is cracking or crazing under the glaze on the bottom. The bottom of the lid is discolored. Inside, crazing can be seen at the bottom. The lid rim and groove where the lid sits have a few imperfections. I have provided detailed photos to show these issues for your inspection. These corn-themed ceramic collectibles are becoming increasingly rare. This is a great piece that is around 75 years old. Extra wrapping materials will be provided to protect it in transit.
